Faculty Development Program on Mentoring Institutional Social Responsibility and Facilitation for Community Engagement

Five Days Faculty Development Program on Mentoring Institutional Social Responsibility and Facilitation for Community Engagement was organised during 19-23 Sept, 2022 by MGNCRE, Dept of Higher Education, Ministry of India in collaboration with UGC-HDRC, Mizoram University.
Ms. C. Lalrinsangi (Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce) and Mr. R. Lallianzela (Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work), HATIM successfully attended the said program.
The program addresses the need of intervention of Higher Educational Institutions for the development and upliftment of rural economy. Responsibility towards society and community engagement must be inclusive and requires collective efforts of all academic disciplines. It also addressed the need of having adopted villages by colleges. The training enlightened and broaden our mind and understanding on the rural economy.
1. The training aims to facilitate colleges to bring knowledge and learning to the community by encouraging students participation in community development
2. The outcome of the training will positively give input to scores in Naac accreditation
3. The most outstanding take home points in this program is orientation for the college in NEP new syllabus where community field engagement is considered a core value in UG curriculum
4. Topics covered during the course includes community profiling, engagement and intervention planning strategies
5. PRA exercises and role plays were also conducted to give practical learning on community issues and problem solving dimensions
